About Us

Billies' Bazaar is a small UK business that started in January 2010.

As a teenager, Billie loved the fashions of the 1950's but found much of what was available either didn't fit or was too expensive. She started altering the larger items to fit. After buying a 1950's dress pattern, her mother helped her make a dress. Soon she began adapting patterns and eventually making her own.

All her skills have been learned by experience.

In 2007 she began to learn to belly dance and found the cost of suitable clothing beyond her, so yet again she made her own.

Her teacher, Angela Wooi, was in the process of rehersing a show due to be performed in January 2008, Billie was asked to help, unpaid, with the costumes, which she was happy to do so.

After the show Billie was occasionally asked to help with other costumes - including altering cabaret costumes for Ms Wooi.

During 2009, other dancing friends began to ask for Billie to make costumes for them - they supplied to materials, Billie the skills. Many suggested Billie charged for her services.

Billie's Bazaar is the result of all the encouragement from family and freinds who continue to support Billie.
